Welcome to the DCoP virtual conference on "Working Systemically with Family Violence - Risk, Responsibility and Collaboration".

This is a webinar on domestic violence and abuse.

The event content includes issues around risk when working with families and couples, how to identify different types of violence and help clients to break the cycle of violence, and ideas on how to work therapeutically with the people committing the violence.



Dr. Arlene Vetere
Family Therapy & Systemic Practice - VID Specialised University, Norway

Arlene Vetere is Professor of Family Therapy and Systemic Practice at VID Specialized University, Oslo, Norway.

She is a clinical psychologist and a systemic therapist, trainer and supervisor, registered in the UK, where she resides.

In 1996 she established ‘Reading Safer Families’ with Jan Cooper. Their systemic safety methodology for safe relationship therapy practice when violence has occurred forms the basis of this presentation, and is described in their latest book, ‘Intervening After Violence’.
