Choosing, using & presenting psychometrics as expert witness psychologists - highs & lows of statistics in court
Learn the challenges of choosing, using and presenting psychometrics as part of your expert evidence.
This workshop focuses on the use of psychometric assessments as an Expert Witness. Courts are increasingly looking to Experts to provide what they regard as scientific, validated assessments using psychometric assessments.
The choice of assessment tools, the skills needed and the importance of careful interpretation will be discussed with participants sharing the measures they have found most useful within their area of practice. How to present results clearly will be explored as well as common techniques used by barristers to discredit them.
Please note this is not a training in psychometric use and assumes a prior knowledge of psychometric principles.
This training is in a small group environment to assist psychologists to learn how to present their existing knowledge at its best in legal settings.
This workshop is intended for HCPC registered practitioner psychologists or those towards the completion of their accredited training. It is particularly suitable for those considering embarking on practice as an Expert Witness but will also be a useful refresher for those who may have found themselves unexpectedly taking on this role.
This is skills based training for psychologists acting as expert witnesses.
It is strongly recommended that you attend Part 1, 2 and 3 sequentially and before attending Part 4.
