Have you considered taking your coaching practice outdoors?

In this workshop we will demonstrate the benefits of nature and natural environments, as well as the benefits of coaching outdoors, through a look at the what the research says.

We will share outdoor coaching tools, techniques as well as insights into the practicalities and how to start your outdoor coaching journey.

And we will help you to discover your own personal connection with nature and how it could shape your outdoor coaching practice

Learning outcomes:

1) Identify your own personal connection with nature and how it can shape your outdoor coaching practice

2) Learn about the research that shows the benefits of nature, natural environments and coaching in nature

3) Better understand the tools and techniques of outdoor coaching

4) Gain insight into the practicalities of coaching outdoors


Alexandra Burn

Alexandra Burn is an independent business coach with a special interest in outdoor coaching. Previously working in-house as a Talent Management and L&D specialist, she developed a love for coaching employees, from graduates to senior managers, and from cultures and countries all around the world. She recently completed an MSc in Coaching and Behavioural Change, from Henley Business School, where she focused her dissertation research on the benefits of taking coaching conversations outdoors: the benefits of nature, the impact of blue and green spaces and the importance of biophilia on coaching outcomes. She has also co-written a chapter in “The Coaches Handbook” on this research and other practical aspects of eco-coaching. She lives in the Highlands of Scotland, where she is expanding her outdoor coaching practice. She loves to walk, hike and spend as much time in nature as possible [email protected]  

Anna-Marie Watson

Happiest outdoors Anna-Marie is a Performance Coach and Coach Supervisor who loves to escape the confines of four walls and take conversations into nature. Former British Army Officer, she has worked in challenging environments from snowy Arctic tundra to hot and sandy deserts though currently resides within the rolling countryside of Wiltshire. Self-certified learning junkie Anna-Marie holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Applied Coaching from the University of Derby and Master’s in Teaching from the University of Sydney; amongst other psychological and psychometric tools.
She is on a mission to encourage coaches to step outdoors and has contributed to ’The Coaches Handbook’, ‘Succeeding as a Coach’ and co-hosts the ‘Coaching Outdoors’ podcast. She has spoken on the topic at International Coach Federation (Converge and UK Chapter annual conferences), Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and Henley Business School events.
