The Wellbeing Symposium is to get psychological professionals sharing their experiences and learning on improving workplace health and wellbeing.

The day will look at:

  • current practice and challanges
  • learning across the professions
  • development in wellbeing research

Please join us to debate, network, listen, learn and consider options for collaboration to enhance wellbeing at work.

Keynote Address: Building Trust in the Workplace - Professor Finian Buckley, Professor of Work & Organisational Psychology, Dublin City University Business School

The keynote will share advancements in research on trust as applied to the workplace. In particular he will look at the cues that we attend to when considering whether to trust someone, be that a co-worker, a client, a patient or a boss. Insight on how organizational systems and policies can help develop or hinder trust development amongst employees and how this influences their sense of wellbeing and engagement at work will be shared. Professor Buckley will map the implications of distrust in the workplace and will share the research on whether breached trust can be repaired. The keynote will close with some thoughts and ideas on how we might proactively work on maintaining positive trusting relationships with co-worker, clients, patients and our leaders.
