The British Psychological Society was delighted to receive a letter this week from our friends and colleagues at the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations (EFPA).
This letter reaffirmed EFPA’s close bond with psychologists in the UK and, on the day that the UK leaves the European Union, we want to make clear that the BPS reciprocates this sentiment and will continue working as closely as ever with our partner organisations in Europe.
We remain committed to strengthening these ties in spite of the wider political context, and doing so can only benefit our members as well as psychologists across the continent.
Psychology is a global science, and we believe that the collaboration and cooperation that we enjoy with our international colleagues brings a diversity of perspectives that helps our discipline to thrive.
We also know that there are thousands of psychologists from the European Union who have made the UK their home and made an invaluable contribution to our society and our country.
The BPS will continue to do all that we can to support these colleagues both personally and professionally.
