Help our campaign celebrating psychology’s contribution to the Covid response

30 April 2021

Working with BPS member and spoken word artist Sanah Ahsan, we want to use contributions from psychologists to show the fantastic work that they’ve been doing and the challenges that our profession has had to overcome during the pandemic.

If you want to get involved, we are looking for any images or videos showing your experiences during the pandemic, including anything that shows how you’ve made a difference, such as the settings you’ve been working in, as well as short summaries of your experiences that we will use to help create the poem and video.

Psychologists have made a significant contribution to the UK’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, influencing government policy, the media and public health messages. In doing so, this has brought new opportunities to the profession.

The pandemic has resulted in personal and professional challenges to psychologists. In November, the BPS published a report into the impact on psychologists’ wellbeing, which drew on the personal reflections of more than 200 of our members, many of whom described experiencing an ‘emotional rollercoaster’ during the Covid-19 pandemic.

We want to celebrate the contribution made by our members, while documenting this unprecedented time in all of our lives, by producing a video to screen at our virtual annual conference in July and across social media.

Please get in touch with Gemma Hill, our social media manager, if you want to be a part of this exciting campaign.
