NICE Consultation: Draft guideline on Tobacco: preventing uptake, promoting quitting and treating dependence

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) have issued a draft guideline on Tobacco: preventing uptake, promoting quitting and treating dependence.

This draft guideline and its supporting evidence are now out for consultation and the BPS have been invited to comment.

This is a valuable opportunity to ensure that the guideline considers issues important for our members.

We would be grateful to hear the views, contributions and expertise of members. We are particularly keen on evidence-led contributions.

Please note:

  • The society will only produce ONE response to any consultation
  • Any response that goes under the society logo MUST be signed off by the relevant Board Chair and Branch Chair in the case of Devolved Nations
  • Responses on behalf of particular Divisions / Faculties / Member Networks are not permitted under any circumstances
  • Please ensure that all comments are based on Published Evidence and not solely on clinical opinion
