Watch free BPS webinar on meeting the psychological needs of people recovering from severe Covid-19

The British Psychological Society (BPS) hosted a free webinar on 6 May 2020, which explored how health and social care professionals could support people’s psychological recovery from severe Covid-19.

Hosted by the co-leads of the BPS’s recent guidance paper on meeting the psychological needs of people recovering from severe Covid-19, the webinar brought together more than 600 professionals involved in their care to explore the pathway to psychological rehabilitation in greater depth.

Leading psychologists David Murphy, president of the British Psychological Society, and Dr Dorothy Wade, Principle Health Psychologist, Critical Care at UCLH NHS Trust, covered the following discussion points, as well as hosting a Q&A session:

  • understanding the psychological aspects of recovery
  • the risk factors of ongoing psychological difficulties
  • best practice in approaching psychological acre in rehabilitation
